Hello sunshine.

Hi, the name's Dahiyah.
Not much of a story-teller, but the stories could be enticing.
Just simple and plain,
Not anything hip or exciting.
But hey, maybe the world needs simple and plain.
Might not be enough for you,
But it is for me. (:

Amoeba Boys

MEN.

Men are single cell species. They are very simple and want simple things. Talk to them in easy slow words to not confuse them. They don't like complex difficult things. So when women talk to them (or basically yelling at them) using big words, they wont get it. Men needs to be left alone in times of distress and needs plenty of space. Men needs are very easy : Love, care and football. See how simple these amoeba-like species are. They don't need to worry about clothes, food. Its that simple. In case of emergency, when men act out with their famously known temper, dont hesitate to inflict physical pain and show 'em who's boss. Simply by crushing a toe would suffice. These unicellular species are very vulnerable and fragile -- wearing a coat of ego. But don't worry, believe me, us women have larger egos. Push their sensitivity button, and they will attack fiercely without a thought. So go easy on them. You women out there, we need simplicity in our life.

Undiscovered Talent

I sit at the desk, on the squeeky tilted chair and hold up a large roll of gauze.

I begin laying down the gauze and unrolling it, then start folding it into small portions -- fold fold fold.

I use the black sciccors, the one with the broken handle -- the only available sciccors there -- and start cutting across the thick gauze, very difficultly.

After cursing the sciccors and kissing my sore fingers, I take 4 sheets of gauze from the hundreds infront of me, and begin to fold it in the proper dental way of folding gauzes.

I stack up all the gauzes that I folded, into towers and see how high it can go (without the doctor seeing my childish act).

I arrange all the gauzes nicely in a box and sometimes get mad when I accidently fling it around and have to fold them again.

I secure the gauzes in enveloped paper that I have to make using staplers which I can never find the ubat stapler.

I put them in the sterilising machine so that all the germs from my hands that got on to the gauze would die hopelessly.

Apparently, the sterilising machine makes a much worse WENGGGG sound than my computer.

Then I have to put the sterilised gauzes into small little plastic covers for the use of civilians with rotten teeth problem.

And all that fuss just so that patients can stuff the gauzes in their smelly mouths to get em all bloody and spit them out in a few minutes or so. Woop Dee Doo Dah

JPA Interview

Okay so my interview was yesterday, 5Apr. Before you guys ask, no, it did not go as well as I thought it would. Thats because I got bad luck. Boo hoo. ):

So most of the girls wore baju kurung. Even the non malays (they look so sweet), but some non malays wore blouse n skirts. I only spotted 2 malays that wore blazer, so I think you'd wanna stick to baju kurung. Wear an elegant one, impressionable but not too loud. As for my group, 3 of them were non malays, and all of them wore blazer. So i stuck out like a sore thumb in my plain turqouise. Wear decent shoes, preferrably covered ones. Dont show your ugly toenails to them :S No offense hoho. Guys, biasalah. Wear shirt and tie, with nice pants and shoes, and blazer if you have. But you guys punya attire would be fine so this paragraph doesnt help much. T.T

There were 15 Panels. Each panel for 1 room. Every room has 3 interviewers. Ok so each of the Panels ada 25 candidates. 15 X 25 = 375. 375 candidates! Ni baru 8am punya session, baru first day, baru dekat Putrajaya. Bapak banyak candidates :O So anyway, from the 25 candidates of each panel, they are assigned to 5 different batches. So every batch ada 5 people lah kan. So 5 people will be interviewed at the same time. Fuh. So the first batch of every panel will all be interviewed at the same time in 15 different rooms. Ada fahem? Each interview is supposedly to go on for 45mins-1hour. Bila sampai je kat PICC, sign nama dekat board luar tu. Cari panel mana ur name, and see your luck.

So as I've said, I wasnt that lucky. Here's the deal. I was number 25 in Panel 5. Means the bottom of the list. Hmm, strike one. So I went inside and waited. I arrived at 7:30am, I finally got in the interview room at 12:30pm. Like what?! Gila punya tunggu 4jam. Strike two. Perut pun berkeroncong lapar. Strike three. Mintak mak tlg passkan makanan from kafe tp kafe dia pun dah hbs makanan! :O GILA. So a very good tip is, bawak air sendiri, bawak gula gula. Tekak kering ma ):

Ok, they arranged 3 panel for each corridor, so all the members of the panel situated in 1 place. So better make friends with people there. Everybody is so nice! :D I made like 10 friends semalam :D Everybody is friendly, encouraging. So you'll feel relaxed and not stressed out. Yahuu. Oh n I met Sakinah and Bay. Hope you guys get it!

So most of the other groups got topics like H1N1, dengue fever, working in rural areas. You know that people keep saying about current issues? Well not much on that semalam actually. I think semalam, most of the candidates were applying for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and stuff, so the questions are more science-based. So its not much on the current issues, but more inclined to the courses that you're applying.

So, different interviewers handle the interview differently. Ada yang bagi 1 topic to discuss among the candidates. Ada yg dapat 2 topics, 1 in Malay and 1 in English. Ada yang tanya questions je dekat candidates. Ada yg kemukakan scenario utk candidate selesaikan. So you kinda dont know what to expect. But one thing for sure, all the interviewers are very nice and friendly. So bila masuk bilik tu, u dont feel tense.

As Ive said, its just like a discussion between you, some strangers and old people.

So, my group had 2 malays including me and another guy, 2 indians, and 1 chinese. They were all applying for medicine and I was the only one applying dentistry. Go figure. They were as tall as me and even more. So intimidated :S Stike four. We were given numbers n i got number 5. The last one. Strike five. Hmph. Went in the room *jeng jeng jeng

2 guy interviewers, n 1 woman. They were nice but i could see that they were very tired. They wanted to finish by 1pm, so we only had half an hour. Strike six. Introduction was very short, a minute each. Sempat cakap nama (mcmlah interviewer taktau), sekolah, and currently buat apa. Then the topic was, discuss the common cancers occuring. So we only had like 5 freaking minutes to discuss. I suggested that somebody introduce cancer and they everybody take 1 aspect (symptoms, causes, precautions). But no, the others wanted 1 person 1 cancer. Fine. I got stuck with colon cancer. TIBAI SAHAJA -.- So they started numerically. We could only speak 2 minutes seorang sbb diorg nak cpt hbskan. No 1 mula ckp pasal lung cancer along with the causes and symptoms sume lah. Then the next one ckp psl cervical cancer. The problem was, the causes and the symptoms sama mcm the guy yg ckp before. And seterusnya to speaker 3 and 4, the same thing! TU LAH TAK NAK IKUT SUGGESTION ORANG HAISYOOOOOO -.- So when it was my turn to speak, the topic dah jadi basi sebab semua orang cakap benda yang samaaaaaaa je. Strike seven. Oh gila unlucky.

Then they ask to talk about the same topic, but in malay. Dia tak bagi time nak discuss. So on the spot siapa nak cakap angkat tangan. Apa lagi? Tak mau jadi mcm tadi so vroooooom i put up my hand cepat cepat haha. Cerita lah preventive measures the community and government buat (in malay of course).

Then dah habis tu interviewer tanya "Ada apa apa soalan?"
So I asked, "Since Im the only candidate here applying for dentistry, would you like to allocate a different question to me specifically on dental care seeing that cancer is a topic more inclined to the medicine line."

Barulah interviewer dongak kepala, sedar that hey maybe I was left out ey? So dia tanya, why u wanna take dentistry? I had like 5 points in my head! Baru sempat cakap satu, then the interviewer cut me off kata "Oh dah pukul satu. Ok masa sudah tamat itu sahaja terima kasih." Strike eight. *FFFFFFFFFFF. Gila banyak points diorg tk dpt dngar. About there being only 1 dentists for every 7000 people in Msia. About skills, awareness and educating. PEHHHHHH. So, I just smiled and monologed *I better get this!

So yeah, that was how my interview was like. Purely unlucky with 8 strikes. Boo hoo. I just hope I get it. Pray for me pls ):

Good luck to you, you and you yang nak ambik interview.

Cup of Coco

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square hole. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
